The Conference

SkyMUN is short for a Model United Nations hosted at Kandinsky College Nijmegen. In December 2022 the first edition of our conference was established. During our three-day conference, students get a chance to imitate the procedures of the United Nations whilst debating and resolving serious topics. SkyMUN is a great introduction to formality and protocol, but also features fun sides such as our Saturday night party, workshops, and much more.

Theme:

Reducing inequalities within and among nations to develop the global community

In the world of today, we are faced with many global issues. Issues like climate change, corruption, armed conflict, and polarization are on the agenda of governments and corporations and on the minds of people. We are on the road to finding solutions for these pressing issues, but some nations are more able to adapt to the ever-changing world than others. Nations suffering from poverty and oppression cannot meet the requirements needed to change. We are not alone in this world, and we cannot save the globe if not all countries can equally contribute.

By limiting economic inequalities, increasing the amount of democratic nations, and amplifying the unheard voices of minorities, we can work towards a better world and a further developed global community. The 3rd edition of The Kandinsky Model United Nations, therefore, wishes to debate this theme. The Organizing Committee believes this conference will lead to sustainable solutions and ideas. Let's join together to think, consider, and debate, as we can only solve this issue together.
